Piling Burnley – The piled foundation here was for a single storey extension in Colne. There was a large main drain running about 500mm away from the house which was at an awkward height, as the drain was on a steepish slope but so was the outside ground level. In order to save the homeowner as much digging as possible, the beam is stepped in 3 locations which means a bit of extra work but digging everywhere to the under side of the drain would have been costly.

We have concreted the job here after the building inspector has given us the OK. You can better see the steps now and it has been vibrated and leveled to 3 different heights. Shuttered to save on wasted concrete and back filled with spoil on site, this is now a nice platform to build off.
