Piled Foundation in Blackpool
Piling Blackpool – This job for an extension in St Anne’s has been piled & the steel reinforcement designed by the structural engineer installed. Shuttering was also used as the sand just kept collapsing in. The beam here had to go lower than normal to get under the drains, some of which you cant see. At this stage the job has been inspected by building control and we are waiting for concrete to arrive. We will vibrate the concrete to release any trapped air and laser level the concrete.
Piled Raft in Blackpool
Here a single storey building was subsiding and cracks were appearing. The structural engineer designed a piled raft to underpin the building. The piles are about 500mm from the perimeter and 2 layers of mesh sit on top of those piles. Pockets specified by the engineer are then knocked in the existing masonry and the mesh does into them. Concrete is about to be poured here which will be vibrated, ensuring the piles are full.
