The trench was dug for us by the builder and at this stage we have installed the piles down to set, put in the reinforcement that the engineer designed and then shuttered the job. This is now ready for an inspection by building control who will tell us whether we are OK to proceed and concrete.

The job has now been concreted. Ideally any water needs to be as best prevented from entering the trench. In winter you will always have some but any guttering or drains should be redirected so the water doesn’t dill the trench.
We vibrate the concrete with a vibrating poker to release trapped air in the beam, as well as to make sure the piles are filled. Then we level the concrete with the aid of a laser so your builder has a nice base to start laying.
